Auto Korea CC is the parent entity behind the Korean Motor Spares retail and franchise brand, operating as an importer, distributor and franchisor of OEM and aftermarket Korean vehicle parts across South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.
I was the sole technology and operations lead across the group. In practice that meant owning everything from cloud infrastructure and software development to franchise growth, supply chain and revenue generation.
ERP: Built a fully custom ERP from scratch using PHP Laravel, VueJS, MySQL and Python. The old system was fragile and expensive to maintain. The new one covered 30,000+ SKUs, automated purchase order generation to overseas suppliers, introduced live shipment tracking, a B2B wholesale ordering portal, min-qty automation driven by live sales data, and a proper RBAC system that removed the need for developer involvement every time permissions needed changing.
eCommerce: Designed and launched a custom eCommerce platform that hit R100,000 in gross sales within its first two months and opened up customers in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya and Mozambique. Inbound lead volume grew to 50+ WhatsApp enquiries and 20 to 30 website calls every day, converting at 10 to 15 percent through sales training and structured follow-up processes I put in place.
Franchise Growth: Signed 12 franchise partners and 5 distributors through Automechanika expos across India, Germany, China and South Africa, combined with targeted digital campaigns on a lean budget.
Scale: The business grew from roughly R1.2M to R6 to 7M in monthly gross sales. The ERP and digital infrastructure were the engine behind that growth.
AI: Deployed agentic AI tooling that allowed a two-person team to handle copywriting, design, data capture, market research, SEO and development support without needing to hire six additional people.
Brand: Built the full brand identity and digital presence from nothing — website, social channels, paid campaigns and organic content.
